Expo 2020

Between October 2020 and April 2021, Dubai will host the next World Expo, Expo 2020, which will have more than 180 nations exhibiting and welcome an international audience of 25 million visitors. The theme of Expo 2020 is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’. It recognises that generating sustainable solutions to global problems demands collaboration across cultures, nations and regions.

The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour

'The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour' will be the world's tallest tower when completed by 2020. The tower will strengthen the UAE's reputation for innovation and excellence in architecture, engineering and construction and will eclipse Burj Khalifa as the tallest building in the world. It will redefine the nation's already spectacular skyline and set a new global referral point. It will serve as a magnet for tourists and visitors from around the world.

Masar 2020

Masar 2020 project involves the development of road network and transport system in Dubai. The AED10.6 billion-project involves the extension of the Red Line of Dubai Metro by 15 km from Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station to the site of Expo 2020. The extended line will comprise an 11.8 km viaduct and a 3.2 km underground track.

Dubai Tourism Strategy 2020

Dubai Tourism Strategy 2020 is a strategic roadmap with the key objective of attracting 20 million visitors per year by 2020. The strategy focuses on making Dubai as the 'first choice' for the international leisure and business traveller. This involves broadening Dubai's offering in events, attractions, infrastructure, services and packages and making it appealing to a wider audience.

The UAE’s first nuclear reactor

The UAE’s first nuclear reactor will open in the year 2018 at the Barakah plant in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi. The UAE’s nuclear power project is the world's largest single nuclear project. It will contribute to the overall target of generating 50 per cent clean energy which will include solar and nuclear energies by 2050. The UAE has made plans to build three more reactors, all of which will be completed by 2021.
